About

I'm Kristin Rule, a graphic designer with more than 25 years of experience creating brand-consistent print and digital materials, much of it for nonprofit and mission-driven organizations.

For seven years I was the Visual Communications Specialist at the National Association for Music Education (NAfME, formerly MENC), where I designed and produced the association's materials: the quarterly Music Educators Journal, books, brochures, postcards, direct mail, magazine ads, event signage, convention pieces, logos, and HTML emails. I created and maintained NAfME's style guide, led an in-house workgroup of six on a music advocacy campaign, and coordinated print buying and mail-house services.

Since 2000 I've also run Callisto Design Studio, LLC, my freelance practice. I take projects from proposal and concept through print-ready files: annual reports, magazine ads, newsletters, journals, books, logos and letterhead, flyers and posters, music programs, e-books, HTML emails, landing pages, and social media graphics, always working within the client's style guide. Earlier roles at Market Greenhouse, DesignOnline, and CyberSERV added website design, hand-coded HTML email, and online ad campaigns to the mix.

I'm taking on freelance projects and I'm open to remote full-time or part-time roles. If you'd like to talk, get in touch.
